Asminah's Hat

Asminah's Hat This hat was really hard to capture on camera. It really turned out quite breathtaking. There is a herringbone lace design that the camera doesn't really pick up well. I have included a few more pictures below to try to show you how beautiful this hat is. It is super simple and I designed and made it in under 3 hours. It does require simple crochet knowledge. It is made with Patons Soy Wool Silk which many people have been looking for patterns for but you could easily substitute any worsted weight yarn.
Supplies:
Worsted Weight Yarn ( I used Patons Soy Wool Stripes in Natural Geranium)
Size 8 11" or 16" circulars
Size 8 dpn's (I used 4)
Crochet hook size G
Darning needle
1 stitch marker
Pattern:
Cast On 80 stitches (This is knit in the round so you will want to place a markers to indicate the end of the row)
R1: Knit
R2: *ssk, K2, yo, K2* repeat from * around ending K2
R3: Knit
R4: *ssk, K2, yo, K2* repeat from * around ending K2

R8: K1 *K2, yo, K2, K2tog* repeat from * around ending K1

R10: K1 *K2, yo, K2, K2tog* repeat from * around ending K1
R11: Knit
R12: K1 *K2, yo, K2, K2tog* repeat from * around ending K1
Repeat these rows for as long as desired. I did all rows twice and then the first 6 rows once more before beginning decreases. Remember that the hat will flatten out after the crochet row so hat will be much larger than it appears curled.
