Miss Ashley's Diamond Mosaic Purse Pattern

Miss Ashley's Diamond Mosaic Purse Pattern
A co-worker asked me to make her a light blue and pink purse. As usual I wanted to make it special and challenge myself with a new pattern. Her only stipulations were that she wanted it to have a flap and a shoulder strap. First I was going to do simple stripes but then I decided to incorporate a mosaic design. The diamonds are subtle and very elegant looking. The bag is knit flat in two pieces, the main body of the bag, and the shoulder strap. The sides are seamed and the strap attached. It is supersimple and would be ideal for someone just starting colorwork, as only one color is used on each row. As always make one for yourself, a friend, or charity, but do not sell them. If you would like to share the pattern please share the link and not the pattern itself. Thanks so much and happy knitting!

Supplies

  • Bernat Softee Chunky in 2 colors (If using a substitute yarn look on yarn label and use needle smaller than recommended to keep the stitches tight and prevent having to line the bag).
  • Size 9 Knitting needles
  • Tapestry needle
  • Crochet Hook (I crocheted a little loop for the button hole but you could easily knit one if you prefer)
  • Button
