Baby Cables Hat Pattern

Baby Cables Hat Pattern

Since the cable are small it's not a pain to turn them.

Worsted Weight Yarn

  • Size 8 Circulars and/or dpns

  • Cable Needle (If you use them to cable)

  • Stitch marker (For marking beginning and end of row)

  • Tapestry Needle

Cast on 80 sts. Place marker and join to work in the round.

Do Desired length of K1 through back loop, P1 ribbing.

On the first pattern row you will need to pull up a loop from the row below and purl in it to count as the first P1, because the pattern rows require 81 sts.

Row 1: *P2, K4, P2, K1* repeat from * to * around.

Row 2: *P2, K4, P2, K1* repeat from * to * around.

Row 3: *P2, K4, P2, K1* repeat from * to * around.

Row 4: *P2, slip 2 to Cable Needle and hold in front, K2, then K2 from Cable Needle, P2, K1* repeat from * to * around.

Repeat these four rows to desired length. After a row 4 begin decrease rows.

DRow1: *P2, K4, P1, K2tog* repeat from * to * around.

DRow2: *P2tog, K4, P1, K1* repeat from * to * around.

DRow3: *P1, K4, P2tog* repeat from * to * around.

Drow4: *K2tog, K3, P1* repeat from * to * around.

Drow5: *K3, K2tog* repeat from * to * around.

Drow6: *K2tog, K2* repeat from * to * around.

Drow7: *K1, K2tog* repeat from * to * around.

Drow8: *K2tog* repeat around.

Cut yarn leaving a long enough tail to thread through remaining stitches and pull up tight. Weave in all ends. Enjoy! Happy Knitting!
