Angel Skull Hat Pattern

A Million Thanks to Jenny Woll who provided the pictures for this hat!

Angel Skull Hat Pattern
I always have had an affinity for anything with wings, and I'm always wearing skulls so this hat combines my loves. This hat can have two different looks. It can be knitted in two tone with the main color and the opposing color making up the skull and wings, or you can knit it in 3-4 colors, one for the background, black, a color to fill in skull (most likely white) and a color to fill in wings. The instructions will be written for the four color version, which you can easily knit as the two color version by using the background color for all stitches not indicated with a B for Black which is the outline of the image. Of course Black does not have to be used for B any color can be substituted.

2-4 colors of worsted weight yarn
Size 8 circular knitting needles
3 stitch markers (2 of one color, and one of another)

Cast on 88 stitches and join in the round with the stitch marker you only have one color of to indicated beginning/end of the row.

Do as much K1, P1 ribbing as you desire.

Knit for 5 rows
Next Row K25, PM, K39, PM, K24

NOTE: For the following rows it is assumed that you will knit in the main color to the stitch markers then follow the row instructions to the second stitch marker and continue knitting in the main color. Because this hat is done in the round in stockinette stitch all stitches are knit. Color indications are as follows M is the Main or Background color, B is Black or any other outline color, W is the inner wing color, S is the inner skull color.

Begin Pattern rows:

I just wanted to say thanks for this pattern. I knit it for my son (he's 12, into skateboarding so it was perfect for him), it was the first hat I've ever knit and it turned out great!!!
