Simple Twisted Rib Hat
I made this for my Brother-In-Law as a Christmas present. I like the crisp clean look of the twisted rib as opposed to regular ribbing. I also like the subtle differences in the two sides of the fabric.
Supplies:
- Size 8 circular
- Worsted Weight Yarn
- Stitch marker or waste yarn to mark beg/end of row
- Tapestry Needle
Ktbl is Knit through back loop
Cast on 88 stitches and join in the round placing marker.
Every row for body of hat until desired length:
*K1tbl, P1* repeat from * to 8 around
To decrease:
(Please note that CIP# Means Continue in pattern for that number of stitches or Ktbl all Ktbl stitches and P all P stitches for that # of stitches.
R1: *CIP9, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R2: *CIP8, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R3: *CIP7, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R4: *CIP6, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R5: *CIP5, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R6: *CIP4, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R7: *CIP3, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R8: *CIP2, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R9: *CIP1, K2togtbl* repeat from *to* around.
R10: K2togtbl across
Cut yarn leaving long enough tail to thread through remaining stitches and pull up tight. Weave in ends neatly so that you can use both sides of your hat! Enjoy. Happy Knitting.

This would be perfect for my brother! What yarn did you use? I've never seen yarn that looks like "camo".
Thanks for posting your patterns! Merry Christmas!
You have done it again, Kody May! I'm running right now to get my yarn and needles and cast this on. One more (late) gift to do and this is so perfect! I love, love, love your hat patterns. What a gift your generosity of sharing patterns is. But I still think you should consider putting them in a book. I would SO buy it. Until then, I'll indulge in your free ones. Thanks.
