Row 5:  2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in corner space. *(3 dc in space between the two sets of 3 dc clusters) 3 times. (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner space.* repeat star to star three times. (3 dc in space between the two sets of 3 dc clusters) 3 times. Join to top of the ch 3. Slip stitch to corner space. Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing squares together.

Assemble granny squares according to picture using whipstitch.

Working along longest edge first, do 6 rows cream in single crochet back and forth. Do other long edge in same manner.

Then do 11 rows of cream single crochet along each short edge. (Doing it like this instead of working in the round creates a more squared appearance. I chose 11 rows because my alphabet was 7 stitches high giving me a 2 row border above and below the name. You can adjust according to the alphabet you use. I just went on google images and searched for one I liked. )

I made the shamrock in the middle using this pattern http://www.crochetspot.com/crochet-pattern-four-leaf-clover/ if you would like to add one as well, then I simply stitched in on using a running stitch which practically disappeared into the granny square.

Cross stitch alphabet letters of your choice on the short edges in the cream. Weave in all your ends!
