Save Me From The Guyana Sun...Hat

Save Me From The Guyana Sun...Hat

The varigated yarn does not do this stitch pattern justice. If this were worked in a light colored solid yarn it would be stunning. A green or brown would be especially nice with the leafy look of this lace pattern. I was working with what I could get my hands on though. I couldn't find many free sunhat patterns and I think the knitted cotton sunhat is a great thing! I have gotten many compliments on this hat! As you can see from the bottom picture if made long enough it would make a very attractive beanie as well. You can do it as is for a scalloped edge or do some K1, P1 ribbing first. Make sure when you make the sun hat version you make it a little shorter than you would a beanie so that when you add the brim it doesn't cover your eyes.
